EARLY CHILDHOOD & GRADES 1-7

1. Inquire about our school

2. Apply for admission

   • Complete application:

     • Mixed-Age Early Childhood

     • Grades 1-5

     • Middle School

   • Your current or most recent teacher sends us a reference.

   • Your current or most recent school sends us school records.

3. Parent Meeting: The teacher meets with parents

4. School Visit: 

   • Early Childhood (Nursery-Kindergarten): a brief visit with the parent, during school hours

   • Grade 1: 

     • Entry Observations with our 1st Grade Readiness Team

     • Visit  individually with the teacher and/or their peers at school

   • ​Grades 2-8:  The prospective student comes for a three-day trial  

5. Enrollment -  completed through DaySchool and Clarity (An email from Admissions will share enrollment instructions with the family if the child is accepted​​)

   • Optional:  Complete your Financial Aid application within 10 days of acceptance.  (Through Clarity; $65 processing fee.)

   • Optional: Meet with the Business Manager and then receive your Financial Aid award.

   • Complete your profiles in your AWS Portal. (important information we’re legally required to know before caring for your child.)

   • Sign the Tuition Contract and complete your Enrollment Checklists (through Clarity).

December 15 - Financial Aid Applications Open Through Clarity

January 16 - Priority Admissions Begins for New Students

January 31 - Priority Financial Aid Deadline Through Clarity

February 16 - Priority Admissions Deadline for New Students (Applications submitted by this day will be given priority consideration)

February 2 - NC Opportunity Scholarship Online Application Opens

March 1 - AWS awards Priority Financial Aid packages through Clarity

March 2 - NC Opportunity Scholarship Application Deadline

March 15 - Tuition Freeze Deadline (For returning families- fee & 10% deposit must be paid through Clarity by this date)

June 5 - First tuition payment is due for the ‘26-’27 school year. Tuition agreements must be signed by this date.
