At Asheville Waldorf School, enlivening our community means nurturing the vibrant connections between parents, teachers, students, alumni, grandparents, and friends who all play a part in weaving the fabric of our school life. It is the joyful mornings greeting one another, the shared work days, the festive gatherings, and the countless unseen acts of kindness and service. Most importantly, it is the way we support one another in carrying this beautiful education forward for our children.

Annual Campaign FAQ
WHAT IS THE ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN?
The Annual Giving Campaign is our yearly appeal to board members, parents, grandparents, alumni parents, alumni, faculty, staff, friends, and community partners for financial contributions that support the school’s operating expenses and tuition assistance program. This year, Asheville Waldorf School’s goal is $100,000.
WHY IS THE ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN NECESSARY?
Annual Giving helps us flourish and grow so we can offer the gifts of Waldorf education to our children and community for years to come. While families already contribute significantly through tuition, there is a gap between tuition income and our annual operating budget. Like many Waldorf and independent schools, we rely on the collective generosity of parents, grandparents, friends, and business sponsors who make tax-deductible gifts of all sizes each year.
HOW DOES ASHEVILLE WALDORF SCHOOL RAISE FUNDS IN ADDITION TO THE ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN?
In addition to the Annual Giving Campaign, we depend on community fundraisers such as Giving Tuesday, Winter Faire, and our Spring Bloom Gala.
WHY IS 100% PARTICIPATION IMPORTANT?
Our financial strength is bolstered when every member of our community participates. Broad participation builds momentum, inspires others to give, and signals to prospective supporters and corporate donors that those we serve—past and present—stand behind the school. Each grade that reaches 100% participation will receive a class prize!
HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE?
Give at a level that’s meaningful and comfortable for your family. One hundred percent of Asheville Waldorf School’s Board members and faculty give each year, and we count on every AWS family to do the same. What matters most is your participation—every gift makes an impact.
