tuition and fees
The decision to invest in an independent school education is a meaningful one and can have a profound impact on your child’s future.
At Asheville Waldorf School, we are guided by the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, which views tuition not as a transaction, but as a shared contribution toward creating a stable and nurturing environment where true learning can unfold. Families support the life of our school in many ways—through program fees, fundraising, volunteer efforts, and by sharing their positive experiences within the community. Parent participation is an essential part of what makes our school thrive.

Asheville Waldorf School uses a tier-based tuition structure.
Our Tier-Based Tuition system was developed to:
-
Ensure the long-term financial sustainability of our school
-
Create a more equitable and transparent financial aid process
-
Maintain accessibility for current families
-
Expand access to Waldorf education

EARLY ANNUAL TUITION FOR 2026-2027
Families can secure the Early Annual Tuition Rate (based on the 2025-2026 rates) for the 2026-2027 school year by completing the following steps:
-
Pay all non-refundable fees and a 10% tuition deposit for the 2026-2027 school year by March 31, 2026.
-
Finalize your tuition agreement in Clarity by March 31st, 2026.
-
Make first tuition payment in Clarity by June 5, 2026.
Failure to complete any of these requirements will result in forfeiture of the Early Tuition Rate. In that case, your tuition obligation will default to the standard 2026-2027 rate, which reflects any tuition increase for the new school year.

To support families in planning ahead, AWS offers a 10-month tuition schedule for 2026-2027 that runs from June 5, 2026 through April 5, 2027, with no payment due in March 2027.
