Tara Georges
Tara is a mother of three who discovered Waldorf Education over a decade ago while searching for a nurturing and inspiring environment for her first child. She immediately connected with the spirit of Waldorf—drawn to its reverence for nature, humanity, wholesome food, and outdoor exploration. In Waldorf, Tara found educators committed to nourishing the whole child, and as her children flourished within this developmentally attuned approach, her appreciation for the philosophy deepened. Eager to be more involved, she became an active member of the Waldorf parent community, participating in parent meetings, workshops, seasonal festivals, and school fundraisers. She loved being part of a community that celebrated together while supporting the children, the Earth, and their school.
Tara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Binghamton University, a Master of Science in Special Education, and an Advanced Certificate in School Administration from Queens College in New York. Over the course of her 20+ year career in education, she has served students from elementary through middle school as a teacher and has taken on a variety of leadership roles—chairing committees and task forces, leading curriculum teams, and founding and directing student theater programs. She is currently participating in Waldorf Development Forums to further support the school community.
Tara recently relocated to Asheville with her husband and three children. She enjoys gardening, hiking, traveling, and singing, and is grateful to call the Blue Ridge Mountains home.
